There's no modest way to put this. I live in the best neighborhood of Buenos Aires. Palermo is a trendy barrio on the north side of the city which houses the best shopping, trendiest bars and night clubs and many parks and city attractions including the Botanical Garden, Plaza Serrano, Plaza Italia, Palermo Forest, the zoo, a couple museums and so much more. There are several distinct parts of the huge barrio of Palermo which are Alto Palermo, Palermo Soho, Palermo Hollywood, Palermo Chico, Las Cañitas and Palermo Viejo where I live (and Che Guevara and Argentine author Jorge Luis Borges used to live!). What some people would say is the downside is that is can be touristy, but hey, I think in all third world countries the best places are the touristy places. Anyway, I encounter plenty of stereotypical Porteños (people from Buenos Aires) on a regular basis, so it's authentic enough for me.
The streets (and bars) around here are usually frequented by a younger crowd shopping, drinking and generally enjoying life. You might say it's the area of the city with the best attitude. There are so many cute houses, nice places to eat and drink and beautiful outdoor areas. Many other pictures and posts are from Palermo, so the things on this page are the things that don't really fit in anywhere else, but are so great and so Palermo.
