Colonia, Uruguay : Transportation
Colonia is a small colonial (hence the name) city on the coast of the Uruguay. The historic district is an UNESCO site, with many roads and structures which date back to the 17th century. Much of the historic quarter's downtown is cobblestone roads bordered by narrow sidewalks. Walking is by far the best way to get around, but bicycles, motorcycles and golf carts are also common. Some people (natives I guess, because I didn't see a single car rental place) use cars, and though they somewhat disrupt the otherwise prevalent sense of antiquity, many of them are at least retro.
